Hi those in the know.
Am I chasing a fault or a wild goose.
I have seen 3 types of ABS pumps, one with ABS, one with ASC and one with DSC.
My 2000 2.0Ltr has ABS.
I am lead to believe that by pressing & holding the ASC switch I can turn off either ABS or ABS & ASC.
On the track with the ABS off my rear pads get hot, so I think the second part ABS/ASC off is either not available, i.e. the wrong type of pump, or there is a fault where I cant de select it. I have tried holding the ASC switch for 5 to 10 seconds no effect.
Does this make sense. All the dash lights behave correctly on start up.
I'm going round in circles, or not as I can't get the rear to step out!!
I have tried a VIN check nothing about ASC/ABS or TCS in the list.

any clues, I have a date with a diagnostic reader soon.

Cheers

I believe the earlier cars have Asc +T this is either on or off i think the switchable bit comes on with DSC fitted to the later cars.
I think BrainH posted something on this a little while back .

Looks like I just have the ASC option then, thats a shame.
Thanks for your assistance fellas
