I think SWMBO is having a second childhood!
She has informed me she would like a quad exhaust on the broomstick, fyi it is a 2002 2.2i sports individual, the spare wheel is removed.
I am waiting for replies from longlife etc. but I saw this on the 'Bay, any thoughts?

It is supposed to fit a 3 series E46 3.2 M3. I'm just wondering how much modification will be needed, has anyone tried it?

That looks great, but hers is a 2.2 with two pipes leading out.
I've just got a quote in from Powerflow in Tavistock, for £700!
I need to try and get some measurements and see if the Ebay pipe can be modified and made to fit, the people who are selling it don't have a clue, it might as well be a musical instrument! I don't mind a bit of cutting and welding, but it needs to look and sound good when it is finished, or I'm doomed!!

If you're handy with a welder you could fashion an extension piece yourself. Take off point could be after the muffler like the eisenmann set-up. Plenty of stainless suppliers on the web.

Yes, I'm not bad with a welder, I'm thinking similar to you, but, I don't want to chop up any of the original exhaust, (they are unobtanium, apparently), so I'm thinking of just removing the back box and just filling in the gaps, I am very close to making the leap of faith and buying it and see what's what.
I could do with getting the tip position measurements off an M3 E46, because the datum is the original cut out of the bumper, and this will determine the width of the pairs of tips.

Looking at the eBay item, as a minimum you will need to lengthen the intake pipes to connect to the point where you chop out your muffler and shorten the pipes after the first bend so the inlets are on the same centre line as the left hand tips. (Hope that makes sense).

Yes, I see what you mean, It's fun trying to describe exhaust modifying without using your hands, isn't it.
The large lump needs to go towards the inlets to bring the left tips in line with the cut out in the bumper. Then see where the right tips are, then move them to where the cut out needs to be to mirror the left side, this is the tricky bit, I think.

This is mine, a similar layout to the eisenmann version.
Cost me £350 to have made up this was 5 years ago at a garage in Brierly Hill.
If I had it done again I would have the 2 silencer version like Yocky's as it can be a bit loud at about 2.5k revs.

Looks very good, good underside pics, I don't think hers has the separate black trim panel around the exhaust, one of those with no cut outs would be handy, are they available anywhere? She wants a bit loud !! I think she has regressed a bit now she has reached 3 score !

it is not a separate panel, it is the original bumper but with the bottom painted satin black. I cut out the bumper symmetrically opposite to the other cut out, using a cardboard template, then went to the exhaust place.
I like loud too, and it sounds great, it just is a bit loud at those revs coinciding with about 50mph which is where I usually am on A roads and then can get a bit tiresome,. but accelerating makes you grin... and the pops when you ease off, are great.
If I want it quieter I usually change into a lower gear.

also he cut the exhaust and put two flanges on for easy removal doing jobs

this is the sound:

When I bought mine it has a quad Powerflow set up. Understand they did it twice as the first one was very loud. I have to say it sounds really good now.

The ebay box has 2 entry pipes into the rear section the 2.2 has just 1 does it not.
Your best bet in my opinion is to get a custom one made similar to one of the others shown on this thread.

I believe the 2.2 is the same as the 3.0, 2 pipes front to back.
