Hi fellow Zedders, hope you are all surviving all the shortages.
All I want for Christmas is:-
How do you change the centre propshaft bearing.
I have rear rear suspension off my Zed, waiting on putting it back together after an incident at Lydden Hill.

The propshaft bearing got a smack so needs to be replaced, I have a new one.
I looks like it needs to be pulled off and pressed on, I don't have that sort of kit.

Any guidance appreciated
.

On another topic, my spare Zed was running fine, went to start it a week ago and battery dead flat, I've charged the battery and check for drain. There's an almost 15 amp drain with the car turned off, no wonder it flattend the battery. Looks like it's a day of removing fuses until the culprit is found.

Last time I had a totally dead battery it was the passenger side seat slide adjust switch. Jammed in the 'back' direction. Once it's straining it keeps straining even with ignition off and doors locked. Till the battery is dead.

Hi, looks promising. I moved both seats and checked the drain now down to 20 milliamps or so. I've left the battery Connected and I'll check.in the morning.

Coincidentally I'd mentioned this on another thread.

You'd think there'd be a limit switch cut out. But forum member 'the nefyn cat' checked RealOEM where he discovered that such a limit switch is only on the sport seats.

Daft saving of a couple of pence if you ask me. Wonder how many dead batteries this has caused over the years.

Edit.

I unbolted and moved my seats yesterday for a totally unrelated reason. Sliding the seat all the way forward to get at he rear bolts. I wasn't thinking of limit switches but, thinking about it now, I think the motor did cut out once it reached the fully forward position. It would be strange to have a front limiter but not one at the rear.

Maybe there is a rear limit switch but angle of the backrest when slightly reclined just prevents the seat ever reaching the rear limit switch.

Something to investigate maybe.
