Watching news this morning about the introduction of the E10 fuel with 10 % ethanol and might not be good for older engines. Probably not good for most of our engines as they weren't designed to run on it. Will hopefully have both current 5% E5 fuel and new E10 available at the pumps but who will pay for the extra Pumps?
Also mentioned other countries have a tax reduction to encourage people to use the new fuel but we will probably just increase the tax on the old fuel.

It's supposed to be marked on the pumps but never seen anything to say whether you're buying E5, E10 or whatever.

All fuel is 10% ethanol in Florida. You see old cars etc. Using it.

As we mentioned before, Hawaii is one of two states to repeal its mandate. The other, Florida, eliminated its ethanol-requirement law in 2013. Hawaii’s repeal came after at least two other attempts—in 2011 and 2013.

Here in the states, it all over the place. the above was taken from this report made in 2015; https://www.hemmings.com/blog/index...anol-in-your-fuel-fewer-than-you-might-think/

I use Shell V power nitro+ premium. Plus I add fuel cleaners every 1,000 miles since I drive some 164 miles a day. It has helped. I have been doing this since March, when I purchased the Z3. It has gotten better, starting MPG was 25 highway, now it 27.5 MPG average highway. the highest I got was 29.5 mpg.

Googleing E10 fuel brings up this statement from BMW.

BMW group: All petrol engine BMW models are cleared for the use of E10 petrol regardless of their year of manufacture but the minimum octane required should be observed according to the owner’s manual.

Well, that's reassuring. Always assuming that BMW have got it right.
There's a hell of a lot of BMWs running on it in Florida alone. I can't see it being sold over there if it were likely to be an issue. Too much CYA going on for that.
