Have another Sunday off from work and sitting watching tv. Where as I should be swapping panels etc over onto my project

Just not interested. Seems like miles to go from where it was once usable

Which got me thinking. How many projects actually get finished rather than just sold on

Blimey. That’s more than the cars worth your spending.

I’m just going to get it on the road a little less rusty body than before

The parts will cost around £1600, as its a 2.8 it has a value, all the labour will be my own and I am a panel beater, the most important part is that when I am throwing it around and driving it like I stole it I will have the piece of mind that it handles like a new car :D

@Sean d

What are the inner sills? I thought the outer sills fitted direct to the body

All the panels are just really to for show and bolt on. Inner sills are structural

Well that’s rusty
From those pictures alone I don’t think there’s too much different about your car to many. The rear wings commonly rust like that, the suspension looks original and needs changing but nothing new there and the inner sills look solid. I know you have a lot of problems elsewhere and it’s not just that.

Swapping panels is one of the easy bits. It’s cleaning up and repainting underneath which is time consuming. I think me and my lad manage to fit all external panels excl. bonnet and doors in 2 hours. I spent days beforehand cleaning up underneath though.

It seems very similar to how my Titan Silver 2.2 started. That had a dead engine too!

It looks like this now and is proving to be a great car.

The car to me isn’t worth spending the money on. Just get it on the road the cheapest way possible

Not worth another £250 for shocks etc when I paid 2k for it. £500 for a breaker for the panels.

Was hoping to get the money back in parts. But only sold seats for £150 and £100 scrap man

I remember now, you bought it blind and it wasn't as described, I paid £700 for the 2.8 so don't mind spending a couple of grand on it

The chassis rails that run the full length of the car, the jacking points are attached to them, mine are heavily corroded so I am removing them and fitting a new set
Major surgery then Sean. Are you going to get replacements from a donor car?

I think you could have got a few more pounds out of that car quite easily. Didn’t it have roll bars? Or useable door mirrors £200? Door cards are £100 a pair. Aerial base £50. Door seal rubbers, fog lights, radio if original, headlight switch, steering wheel/slip ring, door actuators all easy sellers.

I would honestly give some consideration to that suspension. It looks original and is going to be well beyond its best.
