Production numbers

This is really useful @Roads_Scholar as I've been a little confused about my car. According to the VIN it comes within...

LG23000 – LG2599, Roadster, 1900, M43, EUR, 09/1998 – 07/2001, 2999

Going by this it's a 1.9 but it's not it's a 1.8 ?!?! Can anyone explain please or am just I being stupid? :confused::confused:

It says my car went to South Africa, but it has never been even for a holiday?

BMW have been known to make up their own rules when it comes to engine sizes, sure I remember some e30/e36s coming with 2.2 engines but being badged as 2.5s, or something similar. And pretty sure they did the same with 1.8/1.9s in the past. Probably makes sense to somebody in an office somewhere.

I know it's 1895cc so that makes it even more confusing. :confused:

Good link. Mine comes back as...
LE91000 - LE93420
Roadster - 2800 - M52
EUR - 03/1998 - 05/2000
2421 units produced
...
which feels low for a 26 month period.
