I may be in a position to have some clear third brake light lens made for pre-facelift Z3s, as many of you know these are not available from BMW and to date I cant find any after market ones.

The tooling costs are very high so as a one off its not viable, however a run of 20 or 40 may well be, but before I even consider going forward I need to know if anyone would be interested in buying one at cost?

I haven't a final figure yet but they would be between £50 & £65 each (cost no profit for me) on top of this you would need to change the holder bulbs to red and probably buy a new light unit gasket.

Are the bulbs available in red?

Presumably they would be needed. Clear ones are not cheap from BMW.

I am seriously hoping to get that price down Dave, will know more in a few weeks, I may just go ahead and if not enough zorgers want one I'll flea bay them.

It's a great idea Niall. I'm sure like many others my car is de-tango'd bar the 3rd brake light. Like you say tooling isn't cheap so you'd have to sell plenty to get the price down. There is eBay, Facebook pages etc, us here of course. I dont think you'd struggle to shift 50 or so and being small the other side of the pond isn't an issue either.
