Seeing that our resident Euro runners will be doing Friday night in Ashford Central before crossing it would be rude not to have a little gathering for dinner and maybe a short drive (I know you'll be driving a lot the next day but a short drive to get out of Ashford is not a bad thing!)

Will be great to see you all and have chat before you jet off the next day.

If we can get some ETA's for when you all are arriving in Ashford I can get an idea of numbers and see where I can book a table (or 3!) a short drive from your hotel or if you fancy in Canterbury which is only 30mins on a nice A road away.

Can we get a list going of who's up for meeting and ETA then I can make some suggestions for a place based on table availability?

I've no idea what time we'll hit Ashford. Taking a leisurely drive over from Truro

That's a fair old trek
Sure is, we did the Euro trip last year and did more miles in the UK than on the continent =))

Loved every mile of it though

Had to look on the map to see where that is!!
I would say get away early to avoid the worst of the M25 on a Friday!/

Sorry Dino we can't commit as not sure what time 'The Mints will arrive. We're Presiding Officer & Poll Clerk for the election on Thursday so it'll be a long day and late night. Then on Friday we'll be coming down from Stafford so will have to fight the M6, M1, M25 & M20 so we'll get there when we do. Sorry.

Post the details of where you'll be going and we may see you for a drink:thumbsup:

I used to do Staffs - Kent a lot and preferred M40/M25/M20.

Made up time on the M40 which always seemed to flow better than the M1 (this was years ago so maybe the M1 has improved with the widening and average speed along the top half of the M25.

Will put up details for sure once, you'll need a drink after that drive ;)

I could be around for a swift meet up on Friday evening, just need to check timing first.

We have just been down to Sussex and found the M40/M25 easy run
The M40 never seems as busy as the M1. just busy on the M25 in the usual place past Heathrow,M4/M3 area and then eases off.

Enjoy all

But we'll be doing it on Friday afternoon Brian. We've started going Dartford crossing way as the M25 does not seem to be as much of a problem there as round by Heathrow...

Best bet @Mint is to keep an ear out for the traffic updates as the M25 can very quickly f#@--- up. When we were going down the m40 there were signs say 1 hrs delay on M25 jn7 (M23) but as we got to the 25 Google said it had just cleared and we must have followed the end of the queue through.

So I'm thinking that as everyone will be battling the M25 (hopefully not too much) on a Friday eta's will be hard to predict.

So how about we say 7pm at the Holiday inn which where everyone is staying and go from there depending on how knackered/not knackered every one is. The hotel has an ok Resturant and bar so we cold just catch up there or if anyone's up for it a couple of other options:

1. Nice Sheperd Neame pub less than a mile away from the hotel (so can walk it for those that wa inclined or want a to sample a lot ok Sheperd Neames finest ;) )has a nice garden area.

2. Halfway house pub-country pub 5miles from the hotel, up on the downs in a lovely area:
