Hello Each,

It must be the passing years and stiffening joints but I find it awkward operating the power switch where it is located in th console just behind the seat and plan to relocate to a spare switch housing at the front end. It should be straight forward when I find the route of the power source, so does anyone know, please.

The cables run in the loom under the centre console and carpet. You will have to remove some of the loom binding tape to be able to pull the wires towards the front and also cut the carpet down the centre to access the loom. Also the centre console will need to be partially dismantled to gain access.

Many thanks. Might you know where I can access a wiring diagram; rather than partially dismantling the centre console I'm wondering whether it may be possible to identify the loom by lifting the gear stick boot?

If you pull the existing switch out, obviously the connector and cables are attached to it. Then it is simple to see where it goes (with carpet and console removed). Or you could access the wires, cut them and extend them to wherever you want, then solder the connector back on.

I moved my roof switch but not far, so the wiring was long enough without changing anything.

Personally, I'd leave the existing loom where it is. I'd cut the wires just behind the switch and extend them under the centre console, on top of the carpet, to put the switch where I want.

But that's just me.

Thanks Both. I appreciate the sentiments Yes, seems we're like minded; no need to strip the interior down to bare metal and redecorate, eh,
