Hi,The power hood on our Z3m S50 roadster only works when lifting-it will not power the hood down.
The micro-switch in the roof has been replaced but has made no difference.
Any help would be most welcome

Thank you

Have you checked the fluid level in the pump?

Tony.

Also check that the frame is not catching stopping the roof from lowering. I assume you are pushing the roof part way up to make the system engage ? It will not work from a flat roof, when you just release the catches. Stupid to suggest but even dealers can get caught out with that one, like pushing the pedal down too.

The wire that connects the microswitch is prone to breaking at the hinge point, this would my first port of call.

What about the switch itself. It's possible that the switch only operates one way.
Could you bypass the switch?

Thanks for the feedback guys
The fluid level in the pump is correct
Brake lights work and operation of roof tested with brake pedal depressed
Not yet checked the switch itself or checked wiring for damage-both next job

Thanks again will keep you posted

Which switch was it in the end JW ? Assuming not the microswitch but the one on the console.

Steve we had replaced the micro switch in the roof and thankfully replacing the console switch sorted it-thanks again
Hi John
I have the same problem and am going to have to follow the same tests. How did you get the switch out the dashboard?
