OK, neither Gaz nor myself use Photobucket so we can't test this to see if it works, so if you want to give it a go, let us know how you get on.

Photobucket fix found on another Forum, I've tried it on this Forum and it works

It is worth noting that this could be a temporary fix as code often gets re-written.

I just found a fix for those pesky Photobucket ERROR images that have xxxxxxed up half the posts from a while back!

If you go to "Edit Post", then simply add, ~original after the jpg bit, it brings the pics back to life!!
*********jpg~original[/img]

There is also a fix if you are using Chrome as your browser
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/sear ... 0fix?hl=en
I clicked the top one.

Taken from the link -

This extension should make photobucket embeds work for all accounts across all websites.

It does this by looking at image embeds and changing the referer.

# NOTE: You may need to clear your browser cache (at least for images) before you will be able to see some images (if you already tried to view them before installing this)

I can confirm that this does work, I have both changed legacy photos and uploaded new photos using this fix.

At the risk of appearing unknowledgeable, HT, how do you get the wavy line before the word original,

I used the wavy line method @hard top.

@EnthuZiaZT the wavy line is on your keyboard as an alternate option, on my iPhone I press the 123 key and then the #+= key it is second row down forth from the left.

If you cannot find it on you keyboard, copy and paste this.

~

Cheers

Thanks Brian, I have just found it, when I looked at your solution in the daylight, it was there above the # key! Doh!!

Will try that again tonight, HT.

Haha.... You got me looking more closely at my keyboard in the light of day and I also found it.
A never used button, right under the Esc button and next to the 1 button, double Doh!! ~

I would say if peeps have a build thread running on different forums they can link to a common set of images, rather than uploading them all to the different forums.;)

Grumps, it's purely for those who have already fudged up in choosing to host their images elsewhere. We will always prefer uploading here as a priority to avoid image hosts fudging people over.

Whilst I agree with Minty that it's convenient for threads on multiple sites, all that happens is that multiple threads get broken. Personally not that bothered about a thread on another forum breaking, but I don't like it here ;) Forum owners need to step up and protect the content that people take their well earned spare time to share. But that's easy for me to say as we've been ahead of the curve since we started

Its no big deal Minty to create a build file of photos on their own hardware, people use hosting sites because they (were) free to use as storage and they can access lost files/photos if their hardware goes tits up.
My advice, buy an external hard disk and store your own stuff.

In days of old, when Knights were bold, Dave, at the dawn of Zorg in 2011, we didn't have a choice, it was Photobucket or nothing, then Gary took us into tech realms unknown and 'Hey Presto' downloading was the result!!
