I have discovered the joys of using PlastiDip. This stuff is so good and is addictive! :)

I sprayed the sub woofer mesh which had scrapes all over it exposing the silver underlying steel. As you can see it came out better than new after just two thin coats!

I also sprayed the underside of the rear bumper. It is a subtle but awesome change to the rear of the car. If it was done on a lighter colour vehicle I think it would even look better! I have deliberately left the car looking a bit dirty for this picture as it shows the contrast a lot better.

If anyone wants to know the tips and tricks just let me know as I have watched almost every vid before attempting this.

Next? I will do the external sills which will then be extended to include protection for the rear panels - semi permanent stone guards! I lost one of my magnetic guards some time ago. :(

It is actually really easy, if I can do it almost anyone can. I will do a write up on using the stuff to save everyone else a lot a research time. :)

I would think so as long as all the rust was truly removed. The dip forms a solid skin over the part which prevents air and water getting to the metal thus preventing the oxidation process from getting a foothold. On the other hand should that barrier be breached rust could form underneath and not be noticed until pieces start falling off. JIM

I think they do have a silver, not sure on chrome. You could use the silver them put 4 layers of clear on it which will give it a near chrome finish - I think.

Found another use for Plasti.

I recently got a second hand LHS dash part from @spurs fan in a coupe which had a scuff mark on it. I cleaned it up but still the scuff remained. I then though what the heck, I will give it a light dusting with matt black Plasti. I am pleased to advise that it covered up the marks almost completely! Unbelievable. :)

Suits the thread title perfectly...

You'll soon have a Z3 powered by Plastidip. Have you tried it in the fuel tank yet?...:whistle: It seems the possibilities are endless...
