Totally missed this, only saw it on youtube tonight. Great racer in his day.
Take from Wiki - Phillip William Read, MBE (1 January 1939 – 6 October 2022) was an English professional motorcycle. He competed in Gran Prix motorcycle racing from 1961 to 1976. Read is notable for being the first competitor to win world championships in the 125 cc, 250 cc and 500 cc classes.
RIP Phil Read

Had not come across this, I followed what he was doing between 1961 to 1964 when I had a Triumph T110 that was just like the Bonnivile for colour and engine spec. Happy days.
Geoff

Am I right in thinking that the T110 was the Tiger, then the 250 was the Tiger Cub?

Tony.

There was a Tiger 100 (500cc) T110 650cc Tiger Cub 199cc Speed Twin 500cc Thunderbird 650cc Bonevile 650cc Twenty One 350cc in the 1960s from memory

Olivers Mount, now that brings back memories, in a way a crazy little circuit. Used to love the ride over the moors from Teesside to get to Scarborough on my Suzuki Katana 1100 SZ (still in the garage). Not sure if I saw Phil Read there but I do remember having a conversation with Alan Shepherd who had ridden some demonstration laps on his 250cc MZ. Got a signed program somewhere in the garage.
The riders who must have been mad to race there were the sidcar lads, how they had the nerve to overtake on such a narrow circuit especially down at the hairpin at the speeds they were going at. Respect!!
