PDF "workshop" manual

I wondered if it was a PDF of the Bentley manual or as it suggests something from BMW that might be a bit more detailed than the Bentley.

What do you guys think?

The advantage of a pdf is that it is accessible without access to t'web.

Worth a punt for £5.

A few of us have the Bentley manual on PDF so we can forward it on via a USB stick.

The pdf manual is now on my PC - all 4036 pages and 231.6MB of data!

Not sure what to make of it yet. In many places it says "courtesy of BMW North America" and it has been copyrighted by the Mitchell Repair Information Company.

Interesting... Does it look easy enough to follow? It's quite a hefty document.. Not owning a PC I'd have to put it on a USB stick... Did you just get provided with a link?

Upon further examination, and despite the 4036 pages, it isn’t complete. There is a lot of very general information, even a section on control modules which refers to other brands as well, suggesting it has been lifted from another document. There is also a very general fault-finding section that could apply to any relatively modern car.

When you do get into the Z3 pages, it appears that if you want to see the detail of how to do something, you should click on a link, which takes you to a web page that has expired.

There may well be some useful information, but the first thing I looked for was removal of the rear shelf carpet. My car has clearly suffered from a leaky roof at some point in the past, and needs replacing probably. I was wondering whether you had remove anything else before getting to the carpet. Can’t find any guidance on that.

In conclusion - not very user friendly. I should perhaps go back to the seller and ask about the links/expired web-page issue.

There are some poppers on the carpet. Remove them with a trim removal tool and you should be able to lift the carpet out

Many thanks. If there’s nothing else to remove first that’s a bonus. Still disappointed in the manual though.
