This isn't linked to them Tony it's just a section where Sopers can be discussed. You'll need to ring them.

Much easier to order from BMW, they're cheap and any old ones you find will be brittle.

The infamous hood trim piece!

A sought after piece second-hand as a large number of owners have them missing. And as Lee says they are brittle so decent ones don't come up too often.

But they are expensive new. Expect to pay around £14 ea before any discount Sopers may offer!

That's something I'd happily set myself up with as I could produce both Z3 and Scalextric parts.

But the issue is that the original article has to be 3D-scanned and then tidied-up digitally and put into the right format for the printer. That's a graphic designer's job and a 3D graphic designer at that. They are a bit thin on the ground!

Agreed, but surely worth idnvesting £14 to get brand new one to scan and copy? There are some such people on here, might be worth asking mate.

Tony.

Thats a good point Tony! I know a couple of people with 3D printers, I'll see if they fancy a challenge.

£14 is no problem. And I have decent ones on my own cars to copy.

But it still needs scanning with separate equipment and then the image tidying up to sharpen edges etc that the scan can't fully capture.

That's a job for a specialist 3D designer. It's not something a 2D designer more used to producing eg flyers could do.
