Painted my z3 hardtop wrong color. But it's ok? Or is it.

Recently picked up a hardtop for my z3. Ordered some rattle cans and went at it. But when I fitted the roof i see it's not the right color. Not sure if i ordered the wrong paint or painted it on too thick. Either way the roof is darker than the rest of the car.

What do you guys reckon? Keep it or sand it off and do it again?

Thanks :)

Play it safe and re-paint it in black.

After all who does not like a stylish curvy lady in a little black dress?

Have you got the clear coat on, it's hard to tell from the picture.

Tony.

It's not a pampered classic. It's been a daily driver all year round. Missus worked in town center so picked up more than its fair share of door dings and trolly scrapes etc. I just hate those inconsiderate tw**s.

Anyway to cut a long story short - it's had a few panels painted over the years and, because it was always 'just' a work horse I never noticed, till I started squinting from all angles at that roof, that some of the other panels are slightly off too.

We're working from home now, permanently, so decided to pamper the 22 year old z3 a bit. So I've now decided to have a full respray next year so that everything is the same. Replace the outer sills at the same time.

So, long story short etc. As long as I don't look a complete kn*b with that roof I'll leave it as is over the winter and then take the whole car in for a full respray.

It's still an (almost) daily driver so, in the meantime, if any of them keen forum spotters 'spots' a two-tone They'll know it's me.
