Paint for Plastic Cylinder Head cover

I repainted mine, but now it is peeling up. I tried using high temperature cylinder head black, that I used to use on an old motorbike. Obviously that failed. I know I should have used a plastic primer first. I have heard of people using caliper paint on these. I wondered about plastic bumper paint. Has anyone done an effective job that lasts on these? Thanks
