Afternoon all,
So I decided that as it had stopped raining today (finally!!) I would take Zed out for a bit of a jolly. I also wanted to make sure everything was ok with it as my parents are going to be using it for a week whilst they visit us from Spain.
Zed has been garaged up for about a month, but in that period, I have been replacing the heater resistor pack, and some other minor bits and pieces which has required me to start the ignition, but not the engine a number of times.
When I started Zed up, everything sounded ok, but the Check Engine light came on. I went out for a few miles, and came back and plugged in my OBD reader and it showed:
P1348 fault code - Misfire during start cylinder 4. Ignition Coil Power Output Stage 1 Open Circuit.
I cleared the fault and went for an "enthusiastic" drive and the car is fine. I've switched the car on and off a few times already and the fault hasn't come back.
I'm happy to leave this as it is, but am I possibly looking at a new coil pack for Cylinder 4? Is there anything else which it might be? The spark plugs are new (in the last 1000mls) so I'd have thought they were fine.

Best swap No 4 coil for another cylinder and see if the code returns for the different cylinder that the suspect coil has been moved to. If it sets a code then you have found your dodgy one. Shouldn't think its going to let you down suddenly if its now running ok.
