A superb weekend was had with big Sis and Brother-in-law, Allan in the Yorkshire Dales. Mostly civilised driving with the odd bit of pressing on when traffic allowed. I can confirm that Bella now has zero, zilch, none, as clean as the day she was born Carbon deposits! Met at the Tan Hill pub for lunch then off over Buttertubs Pass and on to Aysgarth Falls for a stop then another couple of hours driving stopping at the Crown Hotel in in Middlesn. Great pub with great food and beer. The Landlord has a Range Rover and a Bently, the wheels were all goosed and neither car had ever been polished or waxed :arghh:

Day 2 took us through Coldstones Cut, Kilnsey then off to Ribblehead Viaduck just in time to see a steam train pass. Then on it! Ribbledhead to Hawes following the Carrera 911S, interesting drive  oh my life :arghh:

Stopped off at the Wensleydale Creamery for a coffee then off to Brimham Rocks for a look see. Back to the hotel for beer and food at 5pm.

Just over 400 miles in the bag and tripped over the 100k mile mark so now run in  Roof down both days less the last hour of the second day so good stuff.

Lovely roads, great for driving. I know which car I'd rather be in (its not the Porsche - whats the point of a roof if you dont need one).

I remember looking on the map (but havent been), when you come up to that Ribblehead junction, is that little track accessible straight ahead ? It looks like it would take you up close to the viaduct, although possibly even too close for a photo opportunity.

But love the driving . . .

Just stunning area mate, not to much traffic about which was nice. Not sure about the track for access though as we parked up the road and struck lucky with the steam train. Sis upgraded from the Boxster to the 911 past year. She had an Elise then an Elan before that. The Porker is just lightning fast and sounds awesome when running behind TBF.

Very nice Andy - some excellent roads and photos, got virtually the same of the Coldstones Cut, Brimham Rocks and Robin Hood waterfall
Great to see the steam train over the viaduct  The track isn't accessible to the general driving public IIRC, its a bridleway.

As a matter of interest, were they allowing the cheese tasting at the Creamery ? I didnt have time when up there the other week but I would suspect not. All you can eat and take crackers in your pocket :D

Regards the red roundabout, when I was there and saw it, I wondered if it was to aid access for wheeled vehicles - pushchairs, mobility scooters etc, as its a long drag up they could pass half way - yellow lines to stop them just pulling up too. Raised roundabout to slow them down going back.

I think so mate, there was a V long COVID-19 Q so we skipped it and had a coffee and went. Spoke to a lady that had a massive camera, she'd travelled 6 hours just to get that shot. Committed.

Could be but not so sure. Don't think you'd get a scooter to the viewing platform from the carpark?

Looks great Andy, a must do ! When we were up that way last year we called at the Tan Hill pub on the way back from Durham, but would like to spend a few days up there for a proper look round.

The best driving roads in England for sure, well worth a long weekend.
