Anyone any recommendations on outdoor covers or indeed have one for sale?

Yes agree they are good Andy but I'm looking for a full cover, preferably breathable.

I use the Stormforce, not cheap but excellent tailored full cover, soft inner non abbrasive, breathable, locakable (extra) and ties down properly and quickly around car. Would get another if my one ever goes.

Same as above for me, had the Stormforce cover for over three years and it's used all year round. Starting to show signs of wear n tear now but still perfectly useable. Supplied by Cover Zone, which was the cheapest at the time.
Also have the half cover from cabrio shield, folds up small enough to take with us on trips away and protects just the top half.

I found the stormforce quite a tight fit & the "tailored" fit leaves a lot to be desired, the pockets for the mirrors are massively oversized making me think stormforce might use the same part of this pattern for other cars. It isn't long enough either, covers the top 1/3 of the wheel.

For the price I was far from impressed although the material is reasonably breathable, durable and lightweight.

The genuine OEM outdoor cover does indeed fit perfectly and is correctly cut, the waxy waterproof covering is prone to degrading over time and if its been washed. It can become tacky/sticky.. if the surface comes away completely will no longer be waterproof ... If you can get one that's hardly been used then great, but otherwise you might be better of going for a mid range (£35)universal cover with a fleeced lining. They are very generous size wise so cover car completely. Should last a couple of winters at least.

Sound like a car cover anorak!

I agree, the Stormforce cover does fit tight on the wide body Z3, not sure about the narrow body zeds.
If you fold the mirrors in, the cover fits much better and still stays secure with the straps fastened.

Presumably a tight fit is better from the point that it will not blow about and chafe the paint as a loose fitting one might do? Have you got a photo of yours steve to see how far down the side it goes?

Stormforce and buy the best one you can justify

@Synclare, just took a quick photo of my cover fitted to the zed for you, with both mirrors folded in.

I use this when mine's parked up, only a half cover but works really well.

May I ask something. I have one of those covers and the inside water proofing started to degrade. I got hold of custom covers and sent some pictures of the inside, you could see daylight shining through it. I’d only had it 3 months when it started to break up. In fairness to them they sent me a replacement straight away and told me to ditch the old one. Thing is this one has done the same albeit a year old now. Has your done this by any chance ?.

Mine is still in prime condition but only used it twice, both for 3 weeks, one in sub zero temperatures and rain and once when V hot and sunny with the odd shower.

Mine is in constant use, even in the summer at work because we have seagulls flying over head all the time say no more. And at home my neighbor has a cat that wants to sleep on it. And being a new roof and cats claws don’t go well.

I'm currently looking for a half cover for when we are away
