They say everydays a learning day! So my usual wake up routeen, batteries always fully charged so pull the fuel pump fuse and turn her over till the oil light goes out, then pop the fuse back in and fire her up, little bit of top end rattle very breefly nothing to worry about. Warm her up throughly and change oil filter and O rings, start her up and top end rattle again! funny I thought never had that before? Ran ran her for a bit and then left her overnight, started her again still a rattle for a second or two! s*** I thought!
Quick Google search revealed possible air lock in the hydrolic tappets and the process to bleed them, this related to the later N series engines but I thought worth a try? Process involves warming the engine up then holding 2/3000rpm for 3 minutes, cold start the following day and all quiet!! This could possibly of been achieved with a good road test but my tax didn't kick in till the 1st.
Always great to have her back on road for summer it's like that first day I picked her up September 1st 1999, she even still smells new!! no bunch of flowers though! Roll on summer!
