Still getting a little hot -I think the o ring on the rad cap i got off ebay is slightly damaged and letting air in allow air locks - will speak to Sopers Monday to get an OEM one

Get a genuine rad cap from BMW is what I found out not patterns parts. It's not that much, I think £20 or so. I bought one last year just as a service item. The system is pressured to around 2bar (on he 6cly anyway).
Had he same issue in a Toyota years ago. Spent ages looking at everything even head gasket and it was the cap...

It wasn't driving weather here but the rain did stay away long enough for Ian to gives the cars a quick wash.

It's proper minging here ,rained all day, heavy ,and our daughters chimney on her wood burner decided it was too blocked and smoked her out so it was up on the roof and take the cowl off and send some brushes down it in a force 10 gale (wind and drizzle) absolutely soaked, but at least she can keep warm

Given you have your own wood and access to a chain saw maybe you can think about chopping out a dirt course for the Z and not worry about the aesthetics, just enjoy (i recommend a helmet though, dirt has a way of getting in your face with the top down, trust me on that one!)

Don't forget to keep some of the small pieces for the BBQ to use when cooking steak. The smoke gives such a great flavor. Frankie

I was hoping for a crisp winters day to drive back from the Zed Shed. No such luck

You might need to book well in advance .... with two Zeds and a LR it's a bit like painting the Forth Bridge.
