Don't go as much now a few times a year. One of my sub contractors owners works for the youth team and knows a lot of the players so I usually get players tickets ;-)badman gee said:

They may have a table at Harewood house

I remember cliff, really nice guy who was matey with Ray Reardon who my dad new really well. He was a regular on the club exhibition circuit around Manchester were a lot of the pros at the time were based.
I've got loads of pics somewhere at my mums.
Some of my earliest memories are running around a snooker table with Higgins chasing me ;-) He was such a charasmatic guy. He was earning around £400 a week doing exhibitions in the days when the average wage was £5, all cash in hand that went striaght in the bookies pockets lol
The clubs used to be packed with people coming from everywhere to watch him play.

I'm a fair weather golfer only, good enough to thrash my way around but stupid enough to get involved in plenty of prop betting b-(
SWMBO obeyed hates it when I tell her I'm playing at the weekend though as it tends to be abroad more than the UK Just booked Villamoura for May and spent christmas in Mercia playing (SWMBO did worm her way on to that one though :-@ ) Lost a 72 hole matchplay prop bet on the last to a 20 foot birdie putt (and to make it worse we were 4 up with 5 to play ! Cost me a case of nice Montecristo Edmundos x_x

I am a golfer, although its less of a hobby now as its my job. I am a PGA assistant professional and will hopefully be fully qualified this year but I don't play as often now and when I do its more competitive and is not really classed as my hobby!zedwheels said:
As a junior I had lots of success from being county boys captain, won a couple of national junior titles (including the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters) that was televised on Sky at the time, was a member of the EGU school of excellence and I represented England at Under 16 level.
This was all I used to do as a kid but then cars came along and that was a new hobby, just as the zed is the main hobby now

Thats cool, one of my mates lads was a junior international and has just spend 6 months in australia on a golf scholership but he's getting to that age now where he has discovered women so its all downhill for him now

WOW seems we have some serious players on .org. I havnt played now for a couple of years and then couldnt get my handicap below 18, strange game, when you think your
just about making it you lose the plot again. I enjoy the walk though!!

I scramble around off 18. I used to play quite a bit when I was a kid but could not break the teens. My father was a scratch player (when he was not playing snooker lol) and my brother is a 4 handicapper. The single handicappers take it too seriously though, I like a bit of competition but a laugh is more important to me from a hobby but I'm good enough not to embarass myself.
I've played in some great celebrity pro ams and met some people you would never normally get the chance to but the current climate has stopped them for most companies :-q I did get to play a charity event last year though with the Liverpool and Everton squads which was a great day.
