Opinions on boot welds

Hi all,

Just been doing some research on the boot weld weakness, but still not entirely sure how the boot floor will look if the welds are *going*.

Taken a couple of pictures of my floor... have seen various similar photos on the net, but no rust around the welds. Are they on their way out?

Any feedback appreciated, unless it's to do with the fact the boot needs a clean

Those look fine to me,mine had very small rusts spots on the welds along the cross beam , only a few,had the crossbeam seam welded £75 job done.

I agree with Hugh, if you take a tiny screwdriver and can slip it in the joint near the weld and see movement then it indicates the weld has started to separate. Rust may or may not be present, just the metal fatiguing at the weld spot. JIM

they look like they heve been re welded (plug welded) originals are spot welds you shouldn't have any problems with them

I only have my iPhone so can't really get a clear look but if they have been re welded I agree you should be good to go! JIM
