Oops !!

Various types of makes using it now, mainly in light commercial ie minibus etc. Peugeot/Citroen have been using a separate additive tank on their cars for years, with what was a fool proof way of putting a certain amount into the main fuel tank at each fill up (when the fuel cap was removed and replaced). What they never accounted for was the poor hard up person who might only put a tenner's worth in when they could afford to hence the additive got used too quickly leaving the DPF to soot up when running with no additive.

Tony.

A lot of Manufactures now use the Add Blu in there cars. My last Passat used it

£20 for around 10 litres i believe

You can buy it for less. Don't know if there's a quality issue or not though.

Tony.

Was going to ask what that Blue Stuff cost. Never seen it at the pumps over here.
We have a tank in the yard for it but if I top up on the motorway services it's about 79p a litre.

petrol engines are cheating too, Aprillia were cheating back in 2001 up until 2012. a deliberate flat spot in the rev range designed to pass emissions and noise tests, they even went as far to add a small indent in the casing of the ecu so you could drill through and it would break a lead going to the offending part of the ecu. cause they never mentioned this. it just appeared on line somehow.

how do i know this. i had one.

Make a dirty fuel, and then get everyone to pay to rectify for it, someone had a brainstorm with that one, surely the manufactures should be made responsible for cleaning the fuel up! what would happen if they started doing it to petrol cars, which is a possibility in the future.

The Forte rep told me a couple of weeks ago after saying people are sick of DPF issues we should get ready for the next thing . . . . PPF.

Tony

ps. Just when you thought it was safe to buy a petrol powered car;)

Not just Aprilia, most bike manufacturers were building-in a flat spot at particular revs, something to do with approaching the decibel meter at a certain amount of revs in 3rd gear and then whacking the throttle open. Give it a little stumble and you're soon over that problem.

Yes and as cars and bikes become more err electronic dependent it becomes inevitable
