The only picture ever taken of Concorde flying at Mach 2 (1,350 mph). Taken in April 1985 by Adrian Meredith, from an RAF Tornado attack fighter, which only rendezvoused with Concorde for 4 minutes over the Irish Sea: The Tornado was rapidly running out of fuel, struggling to keep up with Concorde at Mach 2.

I hoped one day I would able to take a trip in that aircraft shame that the accident led to the grounding of the little fleet but I suppose it's days were already numbered for a long while versus the cheaper options but what a way to fly in style. I was surprised on how small the passenger seating was on concord there was no way I could have endured more than four hours in that seating.

My dads brother used to fly on it often to the US of A.
My brother went on the last flight, got so much champagne chucked at him that he fell asleep and missed most of it...:D

You have a brother! :wideyed:. They are extremley clostraphobic in the cabin. Very narrow with low roof. Still an amazing feat of engineering for there day.

There was a Concorde fuselage at The Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton a while back. I don't know if it's still there, but as some have already said, the cabin space is quite cramped. Our boy asked if it was a "children's" Concorde

i watched a program on Concorde, there was a real funny part - Concorde was flying towards the states, there was a military plane at high altitude, they were all sitting around in pressure suits and were asked to move over as a passenger aircraft was coming through, the passengers in contrast were sitting about drinking shampers in light clothes

Excellent photo - Concorde at Mach 2 : a sight seen by very few indeed.

This reminds me of a school friend. His dad designed the air intake system for the engines. A seemingly trivial task. But, this device, in a confined space has to slow the air speed at the front of the intake by more than 50% to reduce to a subsonic speed at the turbine blades.

Unless you had brought along your Zed steering wheel and mounted it to the back of the seat in front of you..

Great photo. That'll be the Tornado GR1 I suspect. It would be blowing out of its a*** having a top speed at that height of circa MACH 2.2. Stripped bare I suspect and Very quickly diverting to land or re-fuel :wideyed:

That photo gets you thinking! Are we alone in this vast system of space?

I have no doubt that we are not alone. There simply must be other forms of intelligent life out there somewhere.
