Like I said, I was looking for something else Z3 related, and this popped up. It seems that while designing the Z3 BMW came up with a few ideas, this may have got as far as a clay model, must admit I wasn't really paying attention. I quite like it, athers may not. They'd be wrong, mind.
Just had a dive back into that endless rabbit hole of the interweb and found the original article. As above, make of it what you will.

I've definitely seen this before somewhere. I think it was a BMW "concept" car. I'm sure I've got that photo saved in one of my photo archives somewhere.
I quite like the look of it but then I have a pre facelift E85,
The front of it reminds me of a Bugatti Veyron

Wait till you park a Z3 near an Austin Healey 3000, there's bits of lots of cars in the Z.
And I find nothing wrong with that.
