Tried searching but I couldn't find a thread for M42/M44 about anyone trying a lower torque value for the oil pressure sensor.
So here are the torque specs:
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...sensor/5Z61bIx
For M42's it says 40nm which is 29.5 ft-lbs
For M43 it's only 20nm which is 14.75 ft-lbs which is fine.
Mine is an M44 1.9 (Z3) so I'm guessing it's similar to the M42 spec.
It's this oil pressure sensor: - https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ch-12611710509
The dual temperature switch by the block is about 13-14nm which is 9.75-10ft-lbs which is fine.
But damn, if I use 40nm/29.5 ft-lbs on this short oil ps, that's scary. Anyone tightened it just about 20nm/14.75ft-lbs? Or hand tight then how much turn?
