Good reminder from @jonco re the Bush and 2 x O-rings items 4 & 5 in the diagram, when you change the gasket best renew these as well.

how did you get on? My bolts holding the ofh were seized and were a pain. All sorted now but took lot longer than expected.

When I did mine I cut the heads off a couple of longish bolts and put a slot in the end, so the gasket etc wouldn't move while assembling it. Once a couple of the normal bolts had been put in just unscrewed them and put the normal bolts back in.

The ice cream container lid was just to stop anything dropping into the engine while cleaning and
working on it. Just drew round the housing and punched a couple of holes.

It's rarely the actual gasket that leaks, but the O rings on the plastic valve. They turn to brittle plastic with age/heat and allow pressured oil to get past the paper gasket.

Assuming the long 10mm bolts undo, it's a really easy job. I smear the paper gasket with LM grease, stick it to the housing and then fit it with a couple of bolts. Use a torque wrench to nip the bolts up correctly.
