Oil change

Performed first oil change on the Z 3. Appears most owners use Mobile 1 synthetic so I did same with 5w-40 European Car Formula. Filler cap was imprited Castrol recommended. Used Castrol in the MGB exclusively for decades. Thought it interesting.

Castrol has always had very close marketing ties with BMW.

Personally I feel use what you are happy with. Some maybe slightly better on the market but all the oils sold are generally good. I know that may start an argument as some are set on a brand. Changing your oil at suitable intervals is usually more important.

My background is very large diesel engines that you can walk inside of. My personal preference is Mobile as you could see that the engines were a bit cleaner but at the end of the day it wasn't a striking difference
