Talking off additives what do people think of oil additives slick 50 etc are they worth it ?

What I would use Dave, and because we use these products at work, would be Forte products. I use their oil system flush before dropping the oil and their fuel system cleaner regularly. I do not add anything to the engine oil after filling the sump. I usually have some flush and fuel treatment on me at ZedFest at reasonable cost.

My '99 2.8 dash shows 4 green bars, orange dash and space when I start the engine and this has not changed as far as I can see. I have had the car for two years, 8,000 miles and I grew up in the 60s changing oil and filters regularly. BMW tells me 18000 miles oil change on my X3. Whether synthetic or not I feel more comfortable changing after a couple of years or just the filter to clean it up? What do you do to keep the engine pampered?

I would never put clean oil through a dirty filter Michael or even dirty oil through a clean filter. Always change both at the same time, pointless doing any other.
