Planned to change the oil and filters but when I opened the bonnet I was greater with half of Clumber Park roads.

So whist the oil was draining set to and cleaned most of the dust out.
Pulled the air filter case out to clean the bits you can't get in place, the I noticed the air inlet to the alternator was covered in dust so I took it off and found this inside and up to the back of the alternator.

Looks to be a worthwhile check rather than risk cooking the alternator.

All back together now and looking better including the replacement for the pipe I broke.
@Chrisr1949 should recognise this.

I'll get a new one after the weekend.

Yeah, looks good, but these pastic pipes are an accident waiting to happen, I'd advise everyone to change theirs, that's 2 of us now who have broken them by just carrying out normal service jobs, much better to do it on a preventative basis than wait for it to break.

They certainly get brittle with age and heat cycles.

Tony.
