Anyone else notice that their volume knob starts to loosen, or won't actually control the volume as built? Don't really want the added expense of a new radio, love the cassette deck for the novelty of my old cassettes, but the knob just won't work, or turns the volume up when I turn it down, or spins without doing anything. Ideas?

If its anything like my CD version, the volume knob is splined on, and its possible the female spline is cactus or even split on the knob itself, pull the sucker off and have a look, If it is then a bit of tape preferably plumbers tape wrapped around the spline should sort of fix it if its just stripped, if its split maybe not

Thanks! Will have a look with plumber's dope at the ready.

Heres a dodgy pic of a fix for a split one, on a stereo that holds sentimental value to me, a split ring stolen from another bit of equipment. Oddly my wife's hair drier got stuck on one speed shortly after...
