No problem mate drop me a PM with your email address.

I have two boot racks and one luggage case to suit which I haven't fitted yet.
Adrian showed me his boot rack installation and If I remember rightly there should be a tie between the boot lid and the inner boot to stop the luggage rack hitting the rear window
When you say "tie" do you mean this?

This might be tricky to get. Unless somebody has one hanging around in an old boot :bored:? @spurs fan in a coupe

Hmm I have a pair of pistons in mine, I don't think there is a tie. I'll take a picture tomorrow. Mine definitely is smooth and doesn't touch the window...

My bad, went to check and there IS a tie on mine as well, hadn't really noticed it...

Also, if you install a new one, make sure to lubricate/grease the bolts quite generously -- mine were corroded and I had to remove the whole lot, strip, and regrease them. There's 4 rubber washers that are perished too, need to find some replacements.

I would like to see where and how the 82799405843 ARRESTER CABLE is attached inside the boot

No idea on this one, mine was on the car when I got it.
What I would do is buy a scrap boot lid and have a practice.
My plan is to get another kit to mount the rack permanently and just switch them off the few times I will need the rack and suitcase. JIM

No it doesn't but as I was chatting about a tie on the boot lid to stop the rack from hitting the rear window.
So this is why I posted the image.
I have a 24 page instruction manual to be scanned and email to Stefan
A ny chance you can do me a copy Steve?? JIM

No thanks I think I'd be happy to see where and how the arrester is fitted
On both my cars, one with installed rack and other without, up under the top right hand corner of both the boots is a bolt thread. The car without the rack has no nut on it but the other has the metal end of the tie slotted over and fixed with a nut.

Here is the picture of the underneath of the mount:
Interesting pic. In the BMW installation instruction sheet it says "Two stud bolts are to be found inside the boot below the right-hand wing and above the right-hand rear-light cover." Exactly what your pic shows.
Both my cars have these two studs but BMW fitted my strap to the single stud bolt near where the boot hinge is located.
