I’m about to remove my polyurethane bush and install the OE differential mounting bush however before I do that can anyone advise as to which way the OE bush goes.

The hole for the bolt isn’t centred which leads me to believe this can only be installed in one (or possibly two) correct ways.

What’s also interesting is that there is an arrow (or triangle) which I’m wondering whether this is pointing in a particular direction.

I read somewhere that the OE bush needs to be fitted in the same way as the previous bush, but with the polybush currently fitted I have no frame of reference.

cheers

ouch. You can buy new hangers. Cut the old one off and seam weld the new one.
Yes I’ve just bought a new one, but I’ve also welded the old one. I’m going to mount and weld the second one over it and then re-weld the boot floor to strengthen it. I’m lucky that we have some good welding tutors on my course.

I seem to remember when I fitted the polyurethane bush I didn’t remove the diff cover. I just dropped it ever so slightly so that it cleared the mount. Is it necessary to remove the cover?

I fit an additional washer/spacer between the rear "ear" and the mounting. It removes the pre-load on the "ear" when the nut is tightened.

That’s excellent thank you.
