Maybe a bent pin or bad connection somewhere....wobbling plugs sometimes helps and gives you something to do while you're thinking about it :-?

I have only used Carsoft 6.5 on the Zed and like others have found that earlier cars although fitted with OBD 11 ports are not fully compliant. However using an adaptor for the OBD 1 socket in the engine compartment gives full functionality with Carsoft and may also work with your code reader. These adaptors are cheap on Ebay.

My Zed is Nov1999 build.I believe that owners of some later build cars have full functionality through the OBD 11 socket under the steering column.

Edit I must try speed typing with 2 fingers.I see that you have already tried the OBD 1 socket.

If your adaptor is specifically for airbag reset tool,I wonder if all pins need to be connected for the reset tool?
If not it probably won't work for diagnostics. :-\

i was thinking just the same Frank....hmm more things to buy :-w
dam iv been looking forward to playing with mi new gizzmo ..

if theres anyone in the area with an adapter or a code reader can you let me know.....the car hasn't any faults i just want to see what all the fuss is about and would mind a look at what mines brought up with all the tinkering iv been doing :))

edit...ok so i reckon the ODD 11 under the isn't connected as iv just opened up the 20pin connector from the airbag tool and its only got 6 wires connected

the code reader has 9..+ 7 unused

so it looks like im going to need an adapter... 16-20
its never simple is it :-l

sorry about the pic quality........
