Hello, I hope somebody has encountered this before. I am trying to install an OBC to replace the analog clock in my Zed and I thought it would be a simple job. However, once the OBC is connected nothing turns on apart from the OBC button illumination LEDs. This makes me hope that the part itself is OK just not communicating to the car properly.

The BC stalk is already installed as part of a cruise control retrofit . Is there any other part I missed?

I also tried disconnecting the battery and pulling the fuses in order to force a reset but no luck. Any ideas ?

You also need the outside air temp sensor. On the 6 cylinder Z33's, it fits into a round spot on the back of the bumper by the bottom air grill.

Thank you. Any idea why the screen won’t power up? As Imsaid only the button illumination seems to work at the moment.

It does sound a bit like a faulty OBC.

Is your Z3 a pre-facelift (square OBC) or facelift model (round OBC)?

Round. But as far as I know only the face plate is different and interchangeable .

The connection plugs are different for the clock and OBC but both fit in the socket. Could it be that you have installed it with the clock plug? The OBC connector may be taped up and tucked away in the loom under the centre console.

Thank you for the suggestion. Definitely connected it to the correct terminal. I think the unit is dead….
