Saw this on a 1 series I tested today.

As you can clearly see it was a deep cut right down to the cords.

I was driving home once in my Merc from up near the German border, started getting vibrations from the back of the car and had to speed up to increase rotation and cancel it out.
Stopped at the next petrol station to have a look, big chunk of rubber out of the left rear tire down to the cords, have no idea what I ran over to cause that.

Speaking of which, I had an old Discovery in after that. N/S/F tyre almost flat (8 psi) through to cords on outside shoulder. On the inside rim bead a big bend. A coincidence ? Not happened over night :mad:

That's a big cut in the tyre :p

This is why Mot's should stay once every 12 months, and also the reason I've never agreed with two year service intervals.
