Good stuff, love New York. Been 3 times and even had dinner in the world trade centre a good few years ago.
Great photos Frankie, brings back memories when I used to work in NYC. BTW the tunnels were always busy when I was there zedonist...
I would really like to go during spring/summer when the light would be better? Like most places it does look like it's very grey in winter time. Lincoln(UK) is no different at this time of year and looks very depressing to me. Great photo's Frankie.
we went in 2006 & enjoyed it very much , went in november & weather was really good, stayed at the Roosevelt hotel
My last trip was December 2006. I was only there a few days that time. I made about 6 trips to NYC over a period of 4 or 5 years but only for a couple of weeks at a time as I designed and delivered telecomms training. I travelled over the pond quite a bit, NYC, San Hose, Newark a few times but Atlanta lots of times. Great memories - loved the people and they loved my accent Great country - lots of space, would love to come back on holiday (vacation) with Mrs Mint as most of my time I was there I was on my own. It's not the same at the top of the Empire State Building with no-one to share the experience with
I know what you mean and what its like to wish your wife was with you to see the things you see when you're alone. I also like tha British accent, as it seems so crisp and clean compared to the way many of us speak English. I was laughing to myself a bit thinking of you in Atlanta only because I was wondering if you were able to completely understand some of the southerners who spoke with a strong southern accent. Sometimes we'll have junkets come in from North Carolina and I'll find myself asking some of those players to repeat themself several times. We used to have a group of guys from there that we called the 'lock and load' boys. Hard drinking and hard playing group of men. And really a lot of fun. They seemed to have their own set of rules. There is also a segment of that southern society that is highly educated and sophisticated. Back to work dealing asian poker now. Frankie
Back on break again. My game went dead for about 20 minutes and I was thinking about you being in Atlanta Georgia. I was wondering if you had much of an opportunity to eat some BBQ at all. I know they pride themselves in their BBQ, each place believing that thiers is the best to be had anywhere. And alot of it is extremely good, cooked by people who are passionate about thier craft. Pork, pork ribs, beef brisket and chicken, just as good as it gets. There are few places in the north that can compete with it. It was said that George Washington, on a trip to the south, delayed his return because had hadn't tasted anything so good. Break's over, back to the tables. Frankie
Frankie - yes have great memories of the food in Atlanta, steak, chicken and definitely the ribs. just thinking about it all makes me want to come back again. We're just planning a holiday (vacation) in New Zealand for the end of this year perhaps I'll suggest we come over the pond for 2015/16.
