Deniss Fedotovs asked me to share a picture of my car.
Do someone knows how many Z3 was manufactured without third stop light?

Volker Nickel: Hi Maurizio, VIN LA14XXX were produced from 04-1995 to 04-1999 ca 30.000 pieces. Is a 1.9 with EUR execution CH71 the steering wheel left and M44 engine - 1,90l (103kW) In Euope and especially in Deuschland there is still no cockpit to have a 3 brake light. Without the 3 stop light, the vehicle could be ordered. How many is not to get out of ofizellen database of BMW out...:(

My Oct 96 has 190.000 plus no problems motoring on it (except for a big dent)

mike, manufacturing started in 94 and all had a third stop light as standard, i find it hard to believe that they made a special progression tool just in case someone did not want a hole in their boot, it would make the boot about £10k to buy if you had a smash and needed to replace it.

It was done after market, looks nice though

I bet if Stormy made a boot lid without the recess for the stop light he would sell some. Looks much nicer with the "flat" lid.

But if you were going to do that you would take the dip out in the middle altogether and have a nice flat smooth boot lid, look nicer still then.

Yes, I agree with zedonist, got to be after market, but t-tony, the boot lid is not 'flat' on this car, just the hole where the 3rd brake light was is filled in.

I realised that, I meant a totally flat lid would look very nice?

I am planning on filling the 'dent in the boot' on mine as it is more easy to fit my rear spoiler.
