After the disappointment of the cancellation of the festival of Motoring at Sewerby, For all those that was planning a weekend away and hotels booked a small run was sorted. Meeting up at M18 services we had a really good run up to NY500 at Pickering via the Yorkshire wolds, a bit flatter than the moors but some good roads and stunning scenery.
After the usual chat and a breakfast bap then off to drive the North Yorkshire moors
Some good cars on show including a Mclaren and a Alpine110, but the one that stood out was the Merc not a fan of air ride but it did look well
So off we went heading of to first Goathland bit busy and no room for photos so headed off to the Whitby view point
No its not the new Z4 coupe but ex Z3 owner and honorary zedder Tony (Yocky) Yoxall seen here in the line up with his Jaguar f-type, later to be heard in the underground car park at Scarborough.
After avoiding a busy Whitby we headed through Sleights and then the very attractive Ruswarp, in the sunshine the boaters looked to be enjoying the day.
With a table booked at the Scalby manor we arrived to a surprise banner welcoming my team to the Inn
After a very enjoyable late lunch and a few drinks in the evening finished off a great day.
Sorry no pictures from Sunday. A short run down marine drive and a walk along the prom before heading off along the cost to Hornsea. Weather looking a bit dodgy so off to Sullivan's fish restaurant, can highly recommend this excellent restaurant. Superb fish and chips along with great service. So as we parted to all head off for home the heavens opened quite dramatically. As the rain steadied then dried we were held up by a tractor rally which was quite a site with what looked like about 50 tractors of varying age making quite a special parade, can put up with delays with laid on entertainment. A great weekend that everyone seemed to enjoy,
so after the disappointment of Sewerby the weekend was a success.
