Okay, only £2-3 each from a dealer but that soon adds up so I like to look at alternatives.

Does anyone know what grade I should be looking for, I'm looking at the 3 strut to hub bolts, eg 8.8, 10.9 or 12.9 grade?

Is there a type of material to go for or avoid? eg avoid stainless steel for high stress bolts?

And what pitch should the 2 lower bolts be?

I'm not sure buying generic bolts off ebay will be any cheaper but I always like to check. And I obviously want to be very careful in this area of the vehicle.

I personally would be very very wary of using aftermarket, the scene is awash with inferior fasteners even when correctly marked, I learnt that years ago when threads started stripping well before the correct torque setting was reached. I would clean and re-use with loc-tite the original strut bolts.

Yep, buying from BMW is the quick and easy solution. But BMW won't have these bolts made exclusively for them. They're just a stock item they've bought in bulk. I'm just curious.
