It's looking like the project 2.2 will need new front wheel sensors. Spurs_fan is looking to see what he has in his parts store but in case he can't help and in any case, I'm curious about new ones.

I know with any type of sensor those in the know say avoid 3rd party like the plague and stick to BMW.

But does anyone have experience of better quality 3rd party (maybe Meyle, Bosch) when it comes to wheel sensors?

Mine are the less common DSC type (blue 2-pin plug) which I think was on for the final 2 years of production only.

If you go for aftermarket items just make sure you get OEM quality items, and as k how long the warranty is on them. Some cheap stuff only has 6 months.

Fair point. Although at the moment I'm struggling to find anyone who does or sells an aftermarket DSC part - well only cr*ppy makes. Delphi looks the best of a bad bunch so far.

Agreed they are used on all models including Z3M. I believe DSC was used last 2 years of production.

But it shows DSC equipped car as having different part to ABS. And physcially they are different too. Blue 2-pin plug v grey 3-pin plug I believe.
Apologies I forgot that they changed the DSC system on the later cars and different part nos for left and right.

Thank you - appreciated. Andy is having a dig around for me but I'll certainly catch up with you if he can't help.

Was just asking about the new stuff in case Andy can't help. And to be honest I'm curious about these aftermarket sensors and if there are any good ones out there. The grey plug type are available for as little as £10 a side on ebay as aftermarket parts but would you even bother with one of them?!

If you end up trying the cheaper ones Rob and they work, make sure you clip them securely in the original mountings and even use extra cable ties as it the quality of the components that they're made of which lets them down.
