I've got a 1996 Z3 that both power windows are inoperable. Everything has led to the ZKE module. I pulled the glove box this morning and there is no ZKE behind the box. There is a slot in the brackets for one but no wiring to plug in the module. Still trying to figure out why the windows don't work any other suggestions?

None too sure what goes where on any other Z but mine, but this may help, as far as exploded diagrams go. It may know where they hid things on yours, or even if there is actually one in there somewhere.

Have you got a set of wiring diagrams for your car?

Look in the resources section of this forum. See the blue ribbon at the top of your screen. They are in page 2.

Use the build date of your Z3 to select the correct set. They have their date range in the bottom right corner on the first page.

Just looked up the first set and it has a ZKE. Right at the back of the set are the component location diagrams, so you can look it up and find it. Just note that these diagrams are usually for LHD cars, so swap the location to the other side for the RHD.
