Our daughter is 27 this year and living with her fiancé. They were also planning to get married this year, but have had to postpone it, because she has been very ill from last July with Autoimmune Haemolytic Anaemia. Addenbrookes put her on 160mg of steroids each day, she had 8 blood transfusions, 7 plasma exchanges and Rituximab (a chemo treatment used for Leukemia) At one stage we nearly lost her, finally having to have her spleen removed to prevent the blood cells destroying each other, but she finally started back to work 2 days a week in March and was just feeling that she could cope with full time again, when she had a kidney stone that went seriously wrong. Poor kid has been through the mill, she is still experiencing terrible joint pains and headaches every day, that Addenbrookes can't fathom.
You just don't stop worrying about them, do you, even though they have flown the nest.
