No rev’s

Good evening all

Got a challenge …..
Z3 2001 3.0

Had a lower induction pipe replaced and afterwards the car won’t rev ! Something went awry ????
Idles perfect

BUT …… it revs once and then nothing !
Pedal to the floor and nothing

Tried a new potentiometer …. No difference
Tried a new receiver ….. No difference
Tried a new cable ….. No difference

All of these parts are going back to BMW
The Laptop says all works and current flow is fine

The garage is stumped …. NO fault codes found !!!

Possible MAF sensor or ECU fault ??
But any obvious things we are missing ?
Maybe a sensor that we haven’t thought about ?
OR it’s gone to default (No revving) mode ?

Any suggestions I can give to the garage ??

You can unplug the maff. The car should run without it plugged in. If the car revs ok then the maff is probably the culprit

No lights OR faults on a reader .

ps. Someone didn't stuff a rag into the manifold while the boot was off to keep it clear of debris by any chance. Seen that before.

it was the lower induction pipe ….
I will ask them to check ….. it could be possible
