New owner of a 2000 2.5L Z3, with no ABS or DSC lights on startup. Fuses are good for ABC/DSC under hood. Pushing DSC button does nothing. I did not notice this when buying. I bought from local Audi/BMW mechanic local to me.

from little reading I have done, im assuming it is going to be a bad ABS module.?. Am I ok to drive this without safely or is it s mandatory gix. This car is just s weekend fun car, not a daily driver. With that said, I would prefer both be operational. Any help is much appreciated.

It might be the old trick to “hide” fault ABS module. The bulb in the cluster can be removed or painted black. In my there was even a higher level of this kind of magic. The airbags light was somehow connected to the abs module to hide airbag problem.

The easiest option would be to read the codes with the scanner.

Welcome along, You'll need to have the car plugged in to obtain the fault codes. This will help pin point the issue. It could be as simple as a 30£ sensor that plugs in one end and held in with a single bolt on the other. It Might be worth asking the garage you bought it from if they have diagnostics equipment.
