I saw this last night on ebay, worth a punt just for the supercharger alone.
Totally agree. If the supercharger is any good it's well worth a shot.

I see this a while back and smell a bit of a rat, if you had this car you would just have to get it going to see watch the charger is like, I recon they can't get it to run so getting rid

A non working supercharged 1.9

No thanks.

Money pit

Plus it won't be that much more powerful if at all than a 2.8 etc

Don't get it. What's the point of supercharging a 1.9? And one that's done 125k+ miles?

No MOT for 4 years and a bucket load of advisories. Looks like this car is the wrong start point to me.

It's down the south-west of the country and would cost £300 to recover to most parts of the country unless you had a trailer. Parking the supercharger it's probably £500 worth.

If it's a complete supercharger kit I think they are around £3k. So as long as it's not b*ggered that's all someone is probably going to buy it for.

Anyone seriously considering taking it on should read this which is a detailed account of installing the same kit. The work goes on and on to upgrade the car around the supercharger...

can't believe he would not have tried to run it. make me think he did, and now thats why he hasn't bothered anymore.
My thoughts too Pete;)

I agree something could be knackered. However...

It's possible he just bit off more than he could chew. He may have bought it with the engine work done but everything else not uprated. Brakes, suspension, clutch, cooling, exhaust would probably all need attention. Big bucks. Maybe realised quickly and never really had much interest.

Perhaps the engine also needed further fettling to setup and he was advised not to run it without that work.

But, a 1.9, would you?

I've not looked into it properly but I get the impression it's a popular upgrade. Not least as kits are sold specifically for the M44. And for the massive increase in power it's straightforward to install apparently even if it then sets off the need for various other upgrades.

But why on a 1.9? I guess if you're attached to your car and don't want to change it. Or if you just want the challenge.

But I learnt years ago you've got to be very dedicated, not to say well heeled to bother upgrading your car like this. Usually much cheaper to just go and buy a bigger engine/better spec car off the shelf!
