Hi all,

Finally done the decent thing and bought a Z3 rather than mess around with classics and kit cars. Managed to find a nice 2.0 in need of a bit of TLC. I'm sure I'll be bugging you with questions as the previous owner had lost the handbook so I'm trying to figure a few things out on the fly.

Hi, AT, and welcome to the forum from the other side of the pond. You and Jim have something in common as he's in the 'wilds' also, only he's REALLY in the wilds. Good that you bought a Z. You 'll be smiling for a long time to come. There are a lot of meets over there and they're fun. You can meet some of the members there. I was in the UK last June and went on one. Met several of the members then. A great bunch of people to know. Feel free to ask all the questions you want. There's someone who knows the answers and will be glad to help you. Frankie

I got a '96 Z3 1.9 2 years ago this July. When I was in the UK in June, @miller1098 took me all over Wales in his '99 3.2 M///. I LOVED IT. I had been constantly on the look out for one at a good price and finally found one in San Diego, CA. So @miller1098 and I flew out there and drove it back across the country. What a great time we had. First time in my life I ever drove a car for 3 hours straight at between 95 to 110mph without stopping. What a feeling. What a car!!!! There are many pics and several videos about the trip that you can access here. When they get together for a cruise over there. its always fun. I wish I could get there more often. Frankie
