I have owned my 2.2 litre Z3 for 10 years ... I love it but am concerned that problems with my ASC and ABS will kill the car . I just sent the abs module away for repair but both warning lights are still on. I am now wondering if its the pump motor. The repair workshop... based in Exeter flagged a pump motor fault on the module..Could the pump be knackered as well ? I have a spare unit.. not sure of condition. I am guessing a BMW dealer will be very expensive. I also run a jaguar xk8 ... 1996.

I had an auto electrical guy check it before I sent the module away. He couldn't get any of his readers to connect to the module.. I think he tried 4 different ones. He concluded a fault with the module. I sent it to be repaired... they indicated code fault 71 abs pump motor . They didn't say if the fault lay in the unit or in the pump. Anyway £250 worse off and no further ahead with ASC and ABS lights still on!

...and things like ABS sensors etc all checked out ok ? If there is a BMW independent near you with proper diag equipment if could stop you throwing good money after bad.

Hi and :welcome: to the forum from me too in Stafford. Where are you located [guessing Bristol], there may be someone close to you with a code reader who may be able to offer some help.

I am over in Newport and run the Zedshed Cymru Group of members from this Forum and the Z4 Forum on WhatsApp. Have diagnostics available if you are in need of a scan. The Shed is my home garage where I have a lift and members supply any parts and oil etc and its left to the individual if they make a donation to the Shed for running costs and sundries we might use. We have a fair number of Bristol based members within the Group as well as all the Welsh members across South Wales. If you want to join us send me a pm with telephone number so you can be added into the Group.

Ouch! They won’t be cheap. There are a few independents just over on the mainland. Iridium in Hedge End are good.
